Tend Journal — Privacy Policy

The short version

Your journal entries never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to use the “Go Deeper” feature. We have no accounts, no analytics, and no way to read your data.

What data stays on your device

• All journal entries, moods, tags, photos, and locations
• Your intentions and goals
• App settings and preferences
• AI reflections generated by Apple’s on-device models

This data is stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework and encrypted by iOS. We never transmit, collect, or have access to it.

When data leaves your device

Only when you explicitly tap “Go Deeper” on a single entry. This sends that one entry’s text to Anthropic’s Claude API for a richer AI reflection. When this happens:

• Your name and identifying information are stripped before sending
• The conversation is not stored by us or by Anthropic after processing
• This feature is entirely optional and clearly labeled

What we collect

Nothing. Tend has:

• No user accounts or sign-ups
• No analytics or tracking
• No advertising
• No third-party SDKs that collect data

Subscriptions

Tend Premium is handled entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not process or store any payment information.
